Behind Our Brand

We started ABA At Home because we’ve seen the realities of autism care up close. Combining parent and clinical perspectives, we realized a couple critical shortcomings: too many individuals lose support just when their needs are changing, and too much care is built around a template instead of the person.

Dondi Markham, CEO, knows this gap firsthand. As the father of a son on the autism spectrum, he saw how hard it was to find the extra support his son needed. The few options he could find often missed the mark, offering little beyond basic social skills lessons.

Then, when his son moved from elementary school to middle school, even those avenues began to dry up. Most providers across the Metroplex stopped serving children once they turned 13, and like many parents, Dondi found that incredibly frustrating. Autism doesn't go away at 13. People don't grow out of it. New challenges emerge as autistic children grow and move toward adulthood, and they still need support.

So when the chance came to do something about it, Dondi and his wife Jan, CMO, jumped at it. For them, this business was built to offer the ageless support Dondi couldn't find, so no autistic individual has to face a future without the help they need.

TJ Knapp, RBT Coordinator, brings the view from the front lines. Since age 21, he's worked with disabled individuals across clinics, autism care companies, and mental health facilities, supporting people of all ages. As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) since 2019, he works directly with individuals and families day to day. Along the way, he's seen what works best operationally and clinically while building a genuine passion for the field.

He understands that every individual has their own struggles and responses, so he never takes a one-size-fits-all approach. He’s driven by progress, knowing that ABA therapy is making a real difference for dependents and their families. One standout memory was when a parent shared that about the first time she was able to take her child to the grocery store without them lashing out. When minor changes to routine burst out as big emotions, those little victories mean the world.

His wife Antanya, COO with a background in mental health operations, helped shape the vision for ABA At Home from the very beginning, so when the chance came to take on a leading role, TJ stepped up. Both take pride in leading the clinical and operational sides of ABA At Home so that therapy is built around each individual's unique needs.

Together, we created ABA At Home to close the gaps we saw as parents and experienced professionals. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, communicate and reach their fullest potential in a safe, supportive and respectful environment. We designed our business to help individuals to become as independent as possible through continued support, passionate care and guidance at any age.
